Whoooo Banksy!! Haha.. I'd never heard of Banksy until this year... and now i think i have problem. I love his stuff more than is probably healthy... I just think it's so witty... Unfortunately its cropped up in research for about 3 different projects now... but I don't care. It's relevant so... I actually get more distracted by looking at photos of his work than by facebook AND alcohol... which is saying something. However, more to the point... again, as in other work i've been looking at recently, Banksy mimicks certain styles in order to take the piss out of them... my favourite of these is shown above... the "official" looking crest is apparently taken from a fag packet... inspired haha. I like how this language is used against the authority its mimicking... its very clever...
