Brian Dettmer is an artist who bases his work around deconstructing books in a way that usually keeps the book in it's original form outwardly, or at least it's outline...(it still appears as a book in a recognisable way) but highlights key images within the book through a series of intricate cuts. These images, to be seem precious as they are surrounded by space. They've been selected for a reason and therefore must have value to the artist. I think these books are stunning.
